Itinerary of Marrakech Private Tour 5 Days:
Marrakech Private Tour 5 Days will take you on a magnificent desert journey throughout Morocco’s famous Erg Chebbi, starting at the world-famous and colorful Marrakech city. Your itinerary will include some must-see locations such as the historical Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the High Atlas Mountains, the Todra gorges, the Erg Chebbi desert, and finally the Draa valley.

1st Day: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
For this Marrakech private desert tour with us, we will start by picking you up from your accommodation in Marrakech (in a private vehicle) at 8 am and start heading towards the great High Atlas Mountains. The drive through the small Berber villages and their green fields will mesmerizing as we cross the highest mountain pass in Morocco: the Tizin Tichka pass (2260 meters high).
We will then get to our first destination of the day: the historical Telouet Kasbah, which used to be the residency of the powerful Pacha Glaoui who used to rule over the region during the 50s. For this reason, the Kasbah was built in an interesting protective fortress style that still survives to this day, despite some of the disintegration caused by the rain over the years.
From this Kasbah, we will start driving towards another one, perhaps the most important in Morocco, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. After driving through the enchanting Ounila Valley, we will get to Ait Ben Haddou, which is a world-famous UNESCO world heritage site, and a historical Kasbah that served as a filming location for many international movies, series, and photoshoots. When we are done exploring the Kasbah, we will finally head to Ouarzazate city where we will spend the night.
2nd Day: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges
After having breakfast at our hotel in Ouarzazate, we will start crossing the famous valley of The Thousand Kasbahs, which received this name for being home to a lot of ancient and abandoned Kasbahs. Then after driving by the city of Skoura and the valley of Roses, we will get to Kalaat Mgouna city where we will stop to discover the Moroccan capital of roses. You can check out the rose-derived goods that are made by local cooperatives such as soap, perfume, and cosmetics. In the afternoon, we will get to the Dades valley where we will stop for lunch and explore this amazing natural site. After enjoying its gorges and unique rock formations, we will finally travel to another set of gorges: the Todra gorges, where we will be spending the night.
3rd Day: Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga (Marrakech Private Desert Tour)
This morning, we will leave the Todra gorges and head to the Tinghir palm groves so that you’ll get to walk around the palm trees plantation. Quickly after that, we will be crossing the magnificent Ziz valley with its green scenery contrasting the red-orange rock formations. This will lead us to get to the towns of Rissani and Erfoud, which will be an indicator that we’ve almost arrived at our destination of the day. In Erfoud, you can shop for ancient genuine fossils if you wish, at one of the many local fossil workshops in the town.
After lunch, we will continue our journey to the Erg Chebbi desert dunes, by first getting to Merzouga town (the gateway to Morocco’s desert). This is where we will meet our camel caravan which you will get to ride through the endless desert dunes while the sun is setting in the sky. You will get an opportunity to catch many panoramic photos of the majestic desert landscape with the sunset, after which our camels will take us to the desert camp where we will be spending the night.
The time you will spend at the desert camp will probably be the most fun out of the entire trip. You will have a mouthwatering traditional meal for dinner while being listening to Berber music and dance animations. The camp is equipped with tents where you will be sleeping, working bathrooms and showers, and a café.
4th Day: Merzouga – Alnif – Tazarine – Nkoub – Agdez (Marrakech Private Desert Trip)
This morning you will be woken up by your desert guide in order to watch the early morning sun deposit its first rays on the desert dunes, in a scene that can only be described as heavenly. After this, we will have traditional breakfast at the camp then once again ride the camels back to Merzouga, on a scenic trip through the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Once we get there, we will continue our desert journey by traveling through the great Draa Valley. We will pass by many interesting Berber villages such as Tazarine and Nkob. Where we will stop for lunch before continuing our way through the million palm trees of the Draa valley. Through this drive, you will also get to see many abandoned Kasbahs and traditional Ksars, contrasting a green oasis with their mud-brick colors. We will get to Agdez town, home to a historical Kasbah called Tamnougalt, where we will be spending the night at a traditional Riad.
5th Day: Agdez – Anti Atlas – Kasbah Taourirt – Marrakech
For the last day of our tour. We will have breakfast then pay a visit to the Tamnougalt Kasbah before we head back to Ouarzazate city. We will get there by crossing a famous mountain pass called the Tizin Tinififft pass. Which will give you a breathtaking view over the landscape of the area. When we get to Ouarzazate, you will enjoy a trip to one of the most important historical Kasbahs. The famous Taourirt Kasbah. After that, we will finally head back to Marrakech, by driving through the High Atlas Mountains. Your private desert tour ends once we drop off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
